Some cougars in pop culture are: The pink panther (from "The pink panther"), Bagheera from the Jungle Book, and the WSU Mascot Butch T. Cougar. 

Cougars are often represented as vicious animals that would attack and eat people. In reality, they rarely attack people. In the past 100 years in north america, there have been 126 cougar attacks, 27 of which were fatal.
